St Croix’s Company House hotel has completed a major multimillion-dollar renovation, Caribbean Journal has learned, making for a new destination historic hotel in the heart of St Croix’s charming centuries-old town.

The Christiansted boutique hotel has completed upgrades to all of its 33 rooms, along with its conference and meeting space, lobby and pool area.

The renovations pay tribute to the building’s long history, including a mahogany bar, antique furniture and decor and a restoration of the building’s historic infrastructure.

The hotel, first built before 1760, has had a variety of owners and names over the years, until VIGL Operations began renovations on the three-story property in January.

The renovation includes the addition of the new Duke’s Bar, managed by the 40 Strand Group, best known for its 40 Strand, Toast, Mill on the Boardwalk and RAW bar eateries and lounges.

It’s another great reason to visit Christiansted, which has become one of the Caribbean’s hottest urban destinations in recent years.
