The highly-anticipated new Celebrity Edge ship is set to arrive at her new home in Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades cruise port on Monday, Nov. 19.

Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship will join the company’s fleet on Monday, sailing off the waters of Broward County.

The ship features the cruise world’s first “Magic Carpet,” a platform cantilevered on the side of the ship that will serve as a restaurant, bar and live music venue atop the ship.

The platform, about the size of a tennis court, can scale the 16-story ship during the course of the day and position itself at one of four different decks, changing its experience at each one.

The 2,918 guest Celebrity Edge will sail on seven-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, beginning in December.

Richard Fain, chairman of Royal Caribbean, the parent company of Celebrity, has said the ship will set a “new baseline” for cruise ships.
