Puerto Vallarta: “No Major Damage” From Hurricane Willa

Puerto Vallarta says it has seen “no major damage” in the wake of Hurricane Willa, the destination’s Tourism Board said Thursday.

Puerto Vallarta’s tourism infrastructure, including the Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, trans-national roads, the marina, the cruise port will return to normal operations.

Indeed, the Puerto Vallarta airport has remained open, officials said.

City services will also be back to normal, including schools, garbage collection and public service works, with the latter having launched work to clear debris from high winds and waves.

Officials told Caribbean Journal that almost 600 tourists were housed in city shelters during the storm because they were in high-risk areas.
