St Barth’s Hotel Christopher Completes Its Comeback

By Alexander Britell

It’s been quite a week for the French Caribbean island of St Barth.

First was the long-awaited relaunch of the boutique Hotel Le Toiny on the island’s raw southeastern shore.

Now, another leading resort has completed its post-Hurricane Irma comeback: the Hotel Christopher.

“Restored and rejuvenated, Christopher St Barth is now open,” the property announced following the reopening on Wednesday.

Set on Pointe Milou on the northern coast of St Barth, the Christopher has a total of 42 rooms and suites, all with direct ocean views.

That’s along with the signature Sisley Spa, the Christo Lounge; the Mango Beach Club, both of which are helmed by leading French Chef Nicolas Tissier, who plied his trade working for French legends including Christophe Pacheco, Christian Le Squer and Jean-Francois Piege, among others.

The property is now being stewarded by new general manager Olivier Leroy, who comes to the Christopher after having served previously at the property from 2012 to 2016.

The list of hotels that are already open in St Barth is now a broad one, from classics like Hotel Le Village and Pearl Beach to luxury resorts like Le Toiny, Le Sereno and the Christopher to beloved beach hotels like Les Ilets de la Plage.

The following month, the iconic Eden Rock St Barth will reopen, having already reopened its villa portfolio for several months.

If you’re looking to stay in a villa, the island’s inventory is booming, led by luxury firm WIMCO.
