There’s a new way to island hop in some of the Eastern Caribbean’s most exotic destinations.

The new Val Ferry began operating between Dominica and Guadeloupe last month, complementing existing ferry service by popular operator L’Express des Iles.

The new service is running a weekly schedule between Pointe a Pitre and Portsmouth with a seating capacity of 400, according to a statement from the Discover Dominica Authority.

Val also operates ferries from Pointe a Pitre to Marie-Galante and Les Saintes, both of which are in the Guadeloupe archipelago, along with Fort de France in Martinique.

The new ferry is the latest access expansion for Dominica, which has been making a strong comeback from last year’s hurricanes.
