Spanish hotel giant Iberostar is adding a new all-inclusive to its broad regional portfolio, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Iberostar will be debuting the new adults-only, all-inclusive Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige, a new-build tower that will be a standalone property within the broader Iberostar Cancun complex.

The brand-new tower will be set in a beachfront location with 13 stories comprising 156 suites, all of which will boast ocean views.

Guests at the property will have access to the Iberostar complex, including an on-site 18-hole golf course; a luxury spa; four specialty restaurants and 11 pools, including an infinity pool.

There’s even a FIFA-regulation soccer field on the property.

The new property;s amenities will include a concierge, 24-hour room service and a private beach club with beachside service, the company said.

It’s yet another addition to what is a booming hotel development scene on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

Iberostar’s imminent launch comes as another large Spanish giant, Palladium, is planning its own large expansion in the Mexican Caribbean, with the debut of the TRS Coral Hotel and the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres November, both in the Costa Mujeres development.

And then there’s the just-announced move by Playa to partner with Hilton on a broad expansion in the region, including in Mexico.
