A New All-Inclusive Is Coming to Punta Cana

By the Caribbean Journal staff

A huge new all-inclusive resort is coming to the heart of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The new Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine will be the first adults-only resort under the Grand Bahia Principe brand, with plans to open at the beginning of November.

The 498-suite property will be set on Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic’s all-inclusive capital.

It will include four restaurants, three bars, Wi-Fi and a spa; guests will have access to the three other Bahia Principe-branded resorts in the complex.

“At Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, we pride ourselves on providing upscale yet approachable hospitality in the Caribbean and we’ve recently taken the initiative to clearly segment and develop each one of our property’s personalities,” said Lluisa Salord, senior vice president of global sales, contracting and distribution, Grupo Piñero. “With the opening of Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine, we hope to strengthen our adults-only business while ensuring consistent quality across our accommodations, amenities and distinct entertainment program.”

Salord said the company saw strong demand for an adults-only “Grand” property in Punta Cana.

“We are confident that Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine will exceed our guests’ expectations,” she said in a statement.

Bahia Principe, whose Caribbean operations are based in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, has been on an expansion push in recent years, including a wave of property transformations.

That most recently included the rebrand of the company’s popular Cayo Levantado resort into a family-friendly outpost.
