Anguilla’s Belmond Cap Juluca, which is in the midst of a major transformation project, has announced the appointment of a new executive chef.

The luxury resort on Meads Bay has named Chef Andrew Gaskin to the role.

The London-born Gaskin’s culinary program will highlight “light Caribbean cuisine alongside more indulgent and experimental dining concepts inspired by the culinary world of Belmond.”

“Andrew’s expertise and artistry usher a new era in the Caribbean culinary scene and a commitment to creating menus and tasting experiences that are an extension of Anguilla’s healthy outdoor scene. The food we serve will reflect the wellbeing our clientele seek when they come to our serene shores.” said Tiago Moraes Sarmento, General Manager, Belmond Cap Juluca.

Gaskin will oversee all food and beverage operations at the property, including the Pimms restaurant, CIP’s by Cipriani; Maundays Lounge and the Cap Shack.

“I’m thrilled and honoured to be joining Belmond Cap Juluca to offer the highest quality of dining options to both local visitors and guests of the hotel,” Gaskin said in a statement. “Belmond features a superlative cadre of inspiring chefs who have put their properties on the culinary map; I’m proud to be part of the family and I look forward to collaborating with many of them in the future.”

Belmond Cap Juluca will reopen on Nov. 17, according to a spokesperson for the resort.
