Sunwing is continuing to ramp up its expansion to the Caribbean, with another new route to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The carrier will be launching a new weekly flight from Sept-Îles, Quebec, beginning Dec. 12.

The new route will run weekly through April 10, 2019, according to the company.

Sunwing will also be resuming its flights from Sept-Îles to Cancun in the Mexican Caribbean for the winter season.

“Sunwing is proud to be the only leisure carrier to offer vacation packages directly from Sept-Îles. Both Cancun and Punta Cana are consistently two of our most popular destinations and we are delighted to be offering local residents even more convenient and affordable travel from Sept-Îles Airport this year,” said Executive Vice President of Sunwing Travel Group Quebec, Sam Char.

The Canadian travel giant has been expanding at a blistering place this summer, particularly in Mexico.
