Delta Adding More Miami-Havana Flights

Delta Air Lines is adding a second nonstop flight from Miami to Havana, the carrier announced.

The new service to Cuba will run five times a week on Airbus A320 aircraft, with 16 seats in first class, 18 in Delta Comfort+ and 123 in the main cabin.

The new service will launch Oct. 28, part of what seems to be a growing expansion for U.S. carriers to Cuba this fall.

JetBlue is launching new Boston-Havana flights in November, while while Southwest Airlines is expanding with a third daily nonstop flight from Fort Lauderdale to Havana beginning next month.

“Because Miami is an important market for Delta we want to offer more options to our customers,” said Luciano Macagno, Delta’s Managing Director — Latin America and the Caribbean. “The new flight provides our customers with an evening departure from both points in addition to the current morning flight out of Miami and Havana, where we are about to mark our second year of renewed service.”
