The Riu Palace Punta Cana has officially reopened following a high-profile renovation project.

The Dominican Republic all-inclusive has a host of new amenities, along with a new decor, in what the company is calling a “complete” renovation.

Changes include a new interior design in common areas, the addition of four new swimming pools; and a brand-new spa, among other features.

The resort now offers five bars, including a cocktail lounge; a lobby bar; a 24-hour sports bar; a poolside bar with a swim-up bar and a new cafe and pastry shop called Capuchino, the latter being a concept that is finding its way into many of the company’s renovated or new resorts.

The Riu Palace Punta Cana has also added a new Spanish restaurant, La Bodega, according to a statement.

The 676-room resort is set on Arena Gorda Beach in the heart of Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic’s most popular travel destination.

Guests also will have access to the company’s nearby Splash World World water park.

The relaunch comes just weeks after Riu reopened another of its all-inclusives, the Riu Tequila in Playa del Carmen in the Mexican Caribbean.
