Jamaica is reporting strong visitor growth in 2018, according to the latest numbers from the Jamaica Tourist Board.

The destination reported 1.25 million stayover tourist arrivals from January to June, a 5.9 percent increase in arrivals over the same period last year.

Luxury properties like Round Hill remain a major draw for travelers.

Stayover arrivals accounted for $1.459 billion earnings in Jamaica, according to estimates from the JTB.

The island also had a strong season on the cruise side with more than 1 million cruise arrivals representing a 4.8 percent increase compared to last year.

“It has been all hands on deck as teams locally and overseas spread the message of destination Jamaica’s commitment to providing exciting and authentic experiences to all visitors,” said Director of Tourism Donovan White.
