Margaritaville is back.
The Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham resort on the island of St Thomas has officially reopened its doors in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
The resort opened to Margaritaville Vacation Club owners and their guests for the first time since last year’s storms.
Wyndham Destinations President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Brown, and several members of the company’s leadership team traveled to St Thomas to witness the reopening.
“It is truly a privilege to be here in the Virgin Islands with our dedicated team as we reopen this spectacular Margaritaville Vacation Club resort,” Brown said. “We are proud to support the rebuilding of St Thomas and are so glad to welcome visitors back to the island.”
The St Thomas property is one of two Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham resorts in the Caribbean (along with another one in Puerto Rico).
“The reopening of Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham is another positive step which contributes to our ongoing efforts to rebuild the territory’s economy,” said US Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism Beverly Nicholson-Doty. Their support contributed significantly to our recovery efforts. As they welcome back club members, we look forward to extending the warm hospitality for which the U.S. Virgin Islands is known.”
The property, set on Water Bay on St Thomas’ eastern end, offers many of the signature Jimmy Buffett-inspired Margaritaville concepts found at the brand’s other resort properties, from the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar to the Cheeseburger in Paradise eatery.
The resort has a range of one to three-bedroom suites and full-equipped kitchens.
