Miami’s Must-Visit Caribbean Food Event: Caribbean305

By the Caribbean Journal staff

In just its second year, the Caribbean305 event has become one of the country’s top Caribbean fetes for foodies.

And it’s coming up soon.

This year’s Caribbean305 returns to the Treetop Ballroom at Jungle Island in Miami, aiming to highlight the art of Caribbean cooking and all things Caribbean.

The event is being held on June 23 starting at 8PM.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, which presents the event each year, is bringing together top chefs and mixologists from around the region, along with showcases of rum, dance and Caribbean music.

This year’s event will feature culinary creations from 16 teams from around the Caribbean, including Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and the US Virgin Islands.

Even better? The event will include an open bar including top bartenders from the Caribbean.

“Caribbean culture is so important in Miami because it’s deeply rooted here. I feel like we are an extension of the Caribbean itself. Our people, the music, the food, the agriculture, and the traditions,” stated Chef Adrianne Calvo, South Florida ambassador for Caribbean305.
