Mandarin Oriental is officially coming to the Caribbean this summer.

The global luxury hotel brand will officially rebrand the Pink Sands Club on Canouan Island in the Grenadines this summer, the company confirmed.

Mandarin Oriental has been managing the property since late 2017.

The rebranded 26-suite hotel will be called the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan, which will be the first branded Mandarin hotel in the wider region.

It will be the highest-profile brand in the Grenadines since the departure of Raffles in 2010.

The company will also be launching a real estate component at the property, with the Residences at Mandarin Oriental set for development on a site close to the hotel and slated for completion in 2020.

The launch of the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan comes as St Vincent and the Grenadines is starting to see a wave of new airlift to its recently-completed Argyle International Airport.

That includes new flights from the United States to St Vincent on carriers including Caribbean Airlines and American Airlines, with the latter set to debut its first-ever nonstop service from Miami to St Vincent in December.

Canouan is a short flight from St Vincent.
