A home in the tony Ocean Club Estates on Paradise Island in the Bahamas has sold for $16 million, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The home sale handled by Ryan Knowles of HG Christie is the largest sale in the Bahamas this year.
The five-bedroom home, dubbed “Island House,” is set on a two-thirds-acre lot, with amenities ranging from a swimming pool and a garden to a summer kitchen — and then there’s the party piece, the direct access to the world-famous Cabbage Beach.
The two-story home’s bedrooms have bamboo floors, while the master bedroom has a spa-style bathroom, a custom walk-in closet and a tongue and groove ceiling. Three of the four upstairs bedrooms boast ocean views, with access to an expansive wrap-around terrace.
Ocean Club Estates, set at the tip of Paradise Island and home to one of the Caribbean’s top golf courses, has long been a haven for celebrities, most notably Michael Jordan.
Residents at Ocean Club Estates enjoy access to the 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course, a private beach club with a heated infinity pool, tennis courts and VIP access to the facilities at both the Atlantis Paradise Island resort and the Four Seasons Ocean Club.
It’s another large sale for Knowles, who has been the top producer at HG Christie, the Christie’s International Affiliate in The Bahamas, for the past four years.
