British Virgin Islands’ Cooper Island Beach Club Set for Return

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 26, 2018

By Alexander Britell

It’s one of the most beloved hotels in the British Virgin Islands, and now the Cooper Island Beach Club is readying for its return.

Cooper Island, which includes everything from a boutique hotel to one of the Caribbean’s largest rum bars, is reopening its doors next week after shuttering in the wake of Hurricane Irma last fall.

The April 1 will include the relaunch of the hotel, restaurant, boutique, rum bar, coffee shop and, yes, the island’s famous microbrewery.

It’s another significant opening for a destination that has been on an inspiring comeback push, buoyed by the particularly strong recovery on the island of Anegada, which has seen its flagship Anegada Beach Club hotel return to operations, along with a host of restaurants and bars.

Cooper Island, which is one of the greenest hotels in the region, has a mix of 10 guest rooms, all of which feature views of the Sir Francis Drake Channel.

Every room has a private balcony, daily breakfast, Wi-Fi, use of paddleboards and roundtrip boat transfers from Beef Island.

Of course, it’s an equally important destination for yachters, with its beachfront often filled with moored charter boats in search of the perfect rum-filled afternoon.

But if you’re planning a return to Cooper, make sure you book quickly – it looks like rooms are filling up fast.

For more information, visit the Cooper Island Beach Club.
