Princess Cruises Launching “Rhythm of the Caribbean” Experiences

By the Caribbean Journal staff

As the cruise industry continues its push to offer more authentic local experiences, cruise line Princess Cruises has announced a new offering of its own.

It’s called “Rhythm of the Caribbean,” and it aims to give guests an “immersive cultural experience” from the moment they step on board.

The program launches aboard Caribbean Princess in May, with additional rollouts for the upcoming fall-winter Caribbean season.

The experiences range from a “Caribbean Festival,” featuring themed parties and musical performances; authentic island cuisine, from red snapper to jerk chicken; Caribbean cocktails like rum punch and coladas and “party like a local,” a high-energy party hosted on the top deck, among others.

That will be accompanied by “Stories from Deep Sea Explorers,” giving guests the chance to meet real-life treasure and shipwreck hunters on board, and even pirate-themed activities.

“We passionately opened our hearts and minds to the diverse local experiences to design ‘Rhythm of the Caribbean’ ultimately allowing our guests to be inspired by the wonders of the Caribbean and instill a passion for discovering new cultures and destinations,” said Rai Caluori, Princess Cruises executive vice president of guest experience and product development.

Princess has a fleet of 17 cruise ships, including a large number of itineraries across the Caribbean region.
