Norwegian Bliss Readies for Launch

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Norwegian Cruise Line’s highly anticipated Norwegian Bliss cruise ship took another big step toward its debut this week, departing Meyer Weft in Germany.

The ship is just two months away from its official launch as one of the Caribbean’s newest ships.

After a stint in Seattle, Norwegian Bliss will begin sailing cruises to the Mexican Riviera this fall out of Los Angeles, before sailing Caribbean cruises from Miami this winter.

In the 2019 fall-winter season, Norwegian Bliss will sail cruises from New York City to Florida, the Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

The 994-foot-long ship has a gross registered tonnage of 168,028, the newest addition to Norwegian’s Breakaway Plus Class.

“Guests will be excited to experience many new first-at-sea activities, including the largest two-level race track at sea, new dining experiences, such as Q Texas Smokehouse and Coco’s a chocolate and treat shop, the Tony Award-Winning Broadway Show Jersey Boys and much more for guests to explore,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.
