The PGA Tour comes to the Dominican Republic for the first time this week with the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club championship in Punta Cana, the tour’s first-ever official event in the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is playing host to the event from Thursday, March 22 to Sunday, March 25.

It had previously been a Web.com tour event until making the transition this year.

The $3 million purse event is being held at the Tom Fazio-designed Corales course.

“Hosting the very first PGA TOUR tournament in the Dominican Republic is an honor both for Puntacana Resort and Club and for the Dominican Republic itself,” said Frank Rainieri, Chairman and Founder, Grupo Puntacana. “This is an affirmation of the exceptional golf facilities we have down here, and we are thrilled to expose the international golf community to the Dominican Republic.”
