All of the amenities of Paradise Island, from casinos to golf, are right around the corner — that is, if you ever want to leave. The food is a standout, too.
Excellence Playa Mujeres Excellence has turned the adults-only all-inclusive into a bit of a science, having grown the company’s footprint across several of the Caribbean’s all-inclusive hubs, including Mexico and the Dominican Republic. But we’re particularly fond of this Mexican Caribbean property, which scores top marks in particular for its food and beverage (particularly its wine offering).

UNICO 20.87 Hotel Riviera Maya This relative newcomer in the Mexican Caribbean is a modern hotel for the 21st century traveler, with an impressive array of inclusive food options and a commendable focus on cultivating memorable experiences in the area. But it’s the food that’s the story, with a passion for local sourcing and creative plating. That’s without mentioning the wellness offering, with everything from yoga sessions to spinning to personal training classes.
Serenity at Coconut Bay, Saint Lucia Forget everything you know about all-inclusive resorts. Saint Lucia’s newest oasis is this, a boutique all-inclusive with just 36 suites, all of which boast their own private plunge pools. The Caves, Jamaica It’s always been one of the coolest places to stay in Jamaica, and that’s still very much the case at this Negril institution. This boutique property simply oozes Jamaican cool, from the authentic Jerk barbecues to the delightful Blackwell Rum Bar.
Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua It’s authentic, it’s adults-only and it’s set on one of the most inviting stretches of sand in all of Antigua. Cocobay, Antigua Home to some of the most spectacular views, not just in Antigua, but the whole Caribbea, this terrific little adults-only all-inclusive is perched on a cliffside overlooking the spectacular Valley Church beach. The rooms are spread across a mix of colorfully-hued cottages, with an emphasis on a throwback, barefoot-chic Caribbean expeience. Our suggestion? Go for one of the pool cottages. Just make sure you buy a one-way ticket.
Sanctuary Cap Cana, Dominican Republic This isn’t Punta Cana. It’s something very different, a luxe, chic oasis that feels worlds removed from the Caribbean’s all-inclusive capital.
