Hilton Expanding in Costa Rica

The soon-to-debut Gran Hotel in San Jose.

Hilton’s rapid expansion in the Caribbean Basin is continuing in 2018 with the planned debut of a new Curio-branded property in Costa Rica.

The Gran Hotel Costa Rica, Curio Collection by Hilton, is set in the historic city of San Jose, adjacent to the popular Avenida Central pedestrian thoroughfare.

It’s slated to open on July 23, according to Hilton’s Web site.

“Our robust pipeline will soon bring Curio Collection by Hilton to over 100 hotels and resorts by 2020,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton. “Through our expansion, travelers will be able to experience authentic travel moments all while reaping the benefits of our award-winning Hilton Honors loyalty program in new destinations around the world.”

The historic hotel is set in a 1930s-era building.
