Carnival Cruise Line is the latest company to make its return to the island of St Maarten since Hurricane Irma.
Carnival’s Carnival Sunshine cruise ship made a day-long call to Port St Maarten on Monday.
The visit is the first of dozens of port calls to St Maarten in the coming weeks, according to a company statement.
Carnival Sunshine carried more than 3,000 passengers to the island, enjoying a range of shore excursion opportunities along with visits to the heart of downtown Philipsburg.
Carnival’s visit was the latest in a line of return visits to the destination, which has seen its cruise industry surging once again in the wake of Irma.
