Caribbean hotels keep getting better and better, and the region’s hotel development pipeline shows no signs of slowing down, with new properties continuing to sprout across the Caribbean and Mexico, both large and boutique, EP and all-inclusive.

So what are the Caribbean hotels we’re excited about in 2018?

They range from Leading Hotels of the World to creative new small hotels to all-inclusives.

Here are 10 new hotels coming on stream in 2018 that need to be on your radar.

Silversands Grenada Grenada is one of the hottest destinations in the Caribbean right now, in large part due to a burgeoning luxury hotel development pipeline headlined by the soon-to-debut Silversands Grenada, which is already a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Silversands, a mix of 43 luxe suites and nine villas. It’s set to open in March.

Rosewood Baha Mar While the vast majority of the Baha Mar has already opened, its crown jewel is still yet to debut. Yes, we mean Rosewood Baha Mar, the ultra-luxe enclave of the Nassau megaresort. The newest Rosewood in the Caribbean will include 185 ocean view rooms along with five spectacular beachfront villas. Planned launch? June.

The Fred The first new hotel in St Croix in 30 years has already had its soft opening, but it’s April that the property will be truly complete, with everything from a hip rooftop bar to a sparkling pool. One of the most exciting small Caribbean hotels to debut in the region in years (both for its design and its local impact), this artful, local-focused property will have 22 rooms in the heart of Frederiksted.

Park Hyatt St Kitts Park Hyatt’s first hotel in the Caribbean opened its doors last month and has already vaulted to the upper echelon of the region’s hotels, with 126 rooms on beautiful Banana Bay on St Kitts’ lush southeastern peninsula.

Quintessence Anguilla’s newest hotel just opened this week, emphasizing grand-style luxury amenities in an intimate, boutique package. That means a world-class French restaurant, custom spa treatments and overwhelming construction quality. It’s also one of the few hotels currently open in Anguilla after Irma.

Hodges Bay Antigua Elegant Hotels’ first foray into Antigua has us rather excited, with hip, modern construction on a beautiful stretch of classic Antigua beach. The hotel will have a mix of both rooms and villas, with a chic pool scene featuring day beds and cabanas and a diverse range of eateries. Debut date? Summer.

VH Atmosphere The just-debuted VH Atmosphere is the latest outpost for the Dominican Republic’s VH Hotels, and is an energetic, adults-only all-inclusive in the heart of Puerto Plata’s Playa Dorada destination on the north coast of the country. Even better? It was designed by world-famous designer Sarah Garcia, also responsible for the nearby Casa Colonial.

Serafina Beach Hotel Yes, this is the same Serafina you know from New York City’s trendy Italian restaurants, this time in beach hotel format. The newest hotel in Puerto Rico is on the sand in the heart of chic Condado, with a “beach house” vibe, a bustling pool deck and bright, airy design. Projected opening date? March.

TRS Coral The Royal Suites Coral is a new beachfront all-inclusive in the up-and-coming Costa Mujeres area of the Mexican Caribbean. It’s the latest foray for Palladium Hotel Group, with 469 rooms, seven restaurants and a private beach club, among other amenities. Opening? Fall.

Spanish Court Montego Bay One of Kingston’s hippest hotels is expanding with the new Spanish Court Montego Bay, a 120-room beachfront property that could be a game-changer for the city’s Hip Strip thoroughfare. Projected debut? Later this year.
