A major new addition to Anguilla’s hotel product is set to come on stream next month with a Jan. 1 opening date.

The Quintessence Hotel, billed as the island’s first “ultra luxury boutique hotel,” is the brainchild of owner Geoffrey Fieger.

Its opening is a major step in Anguilla’s recovery in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

A bit of a unique style for a boutique hotel, the property is built in a “tropical grand mansion,” with nine suites and villas, a restaurant, a spa, bars, an infinity pool and a fitness center and yoga pavilion.

“My wife, Keenie, and I have lived on Anguilla for more than 30 years, and we have built The Q to make guests feel as if they are being hosted in our grand tropical home,” Fieger said in a statement. “We are eager to show visitors that Anguilla is as strong and beautiful as ever.”

The hotel’s Aidan Spa has a menu of manicures, pedicures, facials and massage as part of a property-wide focus on wellness.

Julians, a “tropical French bistro,” is the on-site eatery that already opened earlier this month.

It’s led by executive chef Dominique Thevenet.

Fieger said he was inspired to build Quintessence by the original Malliouhana Hotel, built by the late Leon Roydon.

“Like Mr. Roydon and his Malliouhana, I too share a passion for perfection, collecting antiques, Haitian art, beautiful architecture and interior design,” Fieger said. “It’s taken 10 years to perfect my vision. We are proud to now offer Quintessence Hotel as an unparalleled destination for discerning guests who desire unrivaled luxury, privacy and personalized pampering. It is for these special guests that Quintessence was created.”
