By the Caribbean Journal staff

It’s getting easier than ever to cruise to the island of Grand Bahama.

The MV Grand Celebration ship will be resuming cruises to Grand Bahama beginning Dec. 23, officials announced this week.

Bahamas Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis said the return of the ship was “very vital” to Grand Bahama.

And Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has announced that it will introducing a second ship for cruises to Grand Bahama, the MV Grand Classica.

That ship, which will have 700 rooms, will begin operating cruises to the island in April 2018.

The signing ceremony for the new ship was held this week at the Grand Lucayan resort.

“We believe we have been a significant provider of tourism in Grand Bahama, and now we will have one ship in Grand Bahama every day,” said Oneil Khosa, CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.

The ship operates out of the Port of Palm Beach, Fla.
