There’s a new place to stay on Belize’s Ambergris Caye.

The Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton is now welcoming travelers, the property announced Thursday.

Belize’s newest hotel features 205 cottage and villa-style rooms on a 60-acre waterfront site.

The sprawling complex includes 10 different dining outlets, along with bay and beach clubs and event spaces and a 72,000-gallon saltwater pool.

It all adds up to what is the largest hotel in Belize.

“As we continue to grow our portfolio of Curio Collection properties across Latin America, we are proud to expand our footprint with Hilton’s first property in Belize,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton. “As one of the first high-end resorts on the island, the distinctive property offers one-of-a-kind experiences that are true to the Curio Collection brand and celebrate Belizean culture, such as exclusive access to a pristine private beach and a sustainable design that evokes the local setting.”

The hotel is centered around the 22,000-square-foot Great House, which includes a restaurant and bar, event space and a multi-level covered wraparound veranda, a setting unique among Belize resorts.

Mahogany Bay’s units are set among coconut palm groves and foliage, with each building embracing what the property called “the indigenous details of Caribbean living.”

The culinary offerings focus on organic, farm-to-table food, along with everything from Belizean tacos to a rum bar.

“As Hilton’s debut property in the country, we ensured that we attended to every detail of the resort from the accommodations and amenities to team member training and guest service,” said Beth Clifford, founder and developer, Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton. “The exclusive resort will provide unique guest experiences and serve as the perfect base camp for our guests’ Belizean adventures, fostering a new level of sophistication for travelers visiting the country.”
