Windstar Cruises’ Star Pride boutique cruise ship arrived in San Juan this weekend to begin operating Caribbean cruises out of Puerto Rico.

The all-suite, 212-guest Star Pride will be sailing a series of seven-day itineraries to the region out of Puerto Rico through March 13, 2018.

Windstar President John Delaney is sailing on the first cruise out of San Juan, as the company looks to show that San Juan and Puerto Rico are “reopening for business.”

“It’s important for people to consider [Puerto Rico] in their vacation plans as the destination rebuilds and gets back up and running,” the company said in a statement.

In total, Star Pride will make 11 calls to San Juan for the winter/spring season before setting sail on a trans-Atlantic journey to Lisbon.

This is Windstar’s third winter season sailing from San Juan.
