By the Caribbean Journal staff

Curaçao’s fast-growing cruise industry received a significant boost this week with the debut of its new second cruise pier.

The $43 million mega pier project aims to keep up with increasing cruise demand and a season that is projected to be quite busy.

Willemstad.

The second mega pier is located in Curaçao’s Otrabanda area, west of St Anna Bay.

On Monday, more than 3,000 travelers arrived at the Tula Pier on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas cruise ship to explore the historic capital of Willemstad, among the most fascinating cities in the Caribbean (it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The official grand opening for the pier will be held at the end of March 2018.
