5 Antigua Hotels to Visit Right Now

antigua hotels

The island of Antigua has increasingly been on the radar of in-the-know travelers thanks to a mix of world-class beaches, impressive history and culture and a broad collection of top-level resorts. While the latter have largely been defined by all-inclusive options, there are a host of great EP-plan Antigua hotels to try that offer their own special character and take on Antiguan hospitality. Here are five of our favorite Antigua hotels to try on your next Caribbean getaway.

Blue Waters antigua hotels

Blue Waters It’s hard to think of a lovelier resort anywhere on the island than Blue Waters, the beautifully-designed resort with 116 rooms and suites that feels so much more intimate. The rooms are charming and well-appointed, the pool and beach sublime and the food superb. But the best part is the feel, with an ambience that takes you back to a Caribbean that’s very hard to find nowadays.

admirals inn antigua hotels

The hotel’s Boom restaurant and pool.

Admiral’s Inn & Gunpowder Suites It’s not easy to find an infinity pool in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but at the Admiral’s Inn and Gunpowder Suites, that’s precisely what you find. This hotel built into historic edifices from the 18th century has a very cool layout that’s actually divided across the harbor, meaning you can take a 30-second water taxi between some of the suites. It all adds up to one of our favorite places to stay in Antigua.

carlisle bay antigua hotels

Carlisle Bay Antigua’s only Leading Hotel of the World member, the luxury Carlisle Bay is an Antigua classic, with a calm, tranquil setting on the island’s south coast. In all, there are 88 suites, with two sections for adults and families, respectively. The spa is great, too.

sugar ridge antigua hotels

Sugar Ridge A relative newcomer to Antigua, this boutique-style resort has 60 rooms set around a hillside on a 43-acre tract. There are two beaches within easy reach (Turner’s and the world-class Valley Church), two restaurants and three pools. Our recommendation? Go for a premium king room that comes with its own private plunge pool.

south point antigua hotels

South Point A very different kind of hotel for Antigua, this sits smack on English Harbour, offering some spectacular views of the megayachts that often call this area home. The design is hip and sleek, the service is on point and there’s even a great little waterfront sushi bar. Even better? You’ll often have the pool and private beach all to yourself.
