Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla. set to reopen this year.

Anguilla’s Belmond Cap Juiuca resort has closed its doors to begin a significant transformation project, the property announced this week.

The “reimagined” Belmond Cap Juluca will reopen at the end of 2018.

The rebranded Belmond Cap Juluca, which first opened in 1988, has long one of the most legendary retreats in the Caribbean, with its Greco-Moorish, all-white style in many ways setting the standard for Anguilla hospitality.

And it’s long been a CJ favorite, topping our list of the best beach hotels in the Caribbean, in large part due to the simply magnificent sands of Maundays Bay.

Belmond acquired Cap Juluca in the spring of 2017, soon announcing its plans for a $121 million renovation at the property.

The transformation project will include changes to suites and villas, new eateries and spa and public space enhancements, among others.

Belmond will also be adding 25 new beachfront accommodations to the resort’s existing 96 units.

Belmond has a pair of other resorts in the Caribbean, with one each in St Martin and the Riviera Maya.
