Santo Domingo’s Hotel Frances to Get New Life

The Hotel Frances in Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone is getting a major facelift.

The historic property, which is currently closed, will be refurbished into a 20-room hotel thanks to an effort to rebuild the area by the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism.

The property is located in a 16th century building in the heart of the old city, with a restaurant, a bar and a small meeting space.

The project is in the early stages of development, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry.
