Norwegian Shows Continued Growth

Norwegian continued its strong 2017 with another month of double digit growth, the carrier announced.

Norwegian carried 3,059,402 passengers in June, a 10 percent year over year increase compared to June 2016 and the carrier’s first-ever month over 3 million passengers.

Total traffic growth increased by 19 percent, while capacity growth showed a 20 percent jump.

Norwegian has been increasing its presence in the Caribbean, with flights to Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe and Martinique.

“I’m very grateful that more than 200 million passengers have shown confidence in us and chosen to fly with Norwegian since we began in 2002,” said Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos. “Over the past few years, our growth has been driven by our long-haul routes, and this will continue.”

Norwegian took delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in June, along with three new Boeing 737-800.
