A New Kind of Steakhouse in Aruba

The Renaissance's private island.

Renaissance Aruba is relaunching its L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House, offering what the property is calling an “elevated dining experience” including a new menu, a new brunch concept and craft cocktails.

The restaurant’s décor and overall look have also been enhanced, with the goal of “providing guests with a sleek atmosphere to enjoy cocktails and a meal with music from world famous DJs playing in the background and sweeping views of Oranjestad’s downtown marina,” according to the hotel.

“Over the last year, we have invested in the development of the resort’s food and beverage program and L.G. Smith’s is a prime example of the quality service and gastronomy we are providing guests, “ said Paul Gielen, general manager of Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino.” The idea behind the redesign of L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House is to evolve the steakhouse mentality and introduce a hip ambience that is both elevated and entertaining.”

Some of the chef’s favorite new dishes include Foie Gras Duo, Wagyu Tenderloin and The Dome, which represent his vision: “each dish on the menu is thoughtfully plated to accentuate the flavors of the ingredients, allowing the meats and seafood to be the highlight of the meal.”

With the new brunch concept, guests will enjoy an all-you-can-eat a la carte menu of cold and hot tapa-style dishes, soups, salads and desserts and unlimited mimosas.
