At Sand Bar in St Barth, The Art of the Beach Lunch

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 29, 2017

An exquisitely prepared tartare of local fish; a champagne cocktail; the sand of St. Jean.

This is the beach lunch, St. Barth style, and nobody does it better than the Eden Rock St Barths, the island’s most famous hotel.

You’re perched on a deck just a few feet above the sand, gazing at the cherry-red lounge chairs and the bobbing pleasure boats, a spectacle everywhere you look.

Local mahi mahi tartare.

And while this is as beautiful a setting as you’ll find in the Caribbean, it’s substantive: the service is, in a word, magnificent and the food just as good.

It’s the beach lunch as art. And this is a masterpiece.
