5 Tiny Romantic Caribbean Hotels

Whether you want to light a new love’s flame or simply head on a romantic retreat, there’s no better place to do it than the Caribbean, where every sunrise brings the promise of secluded sands for two. And while there’s nothing wrong with checking into a sprawling property, we’re partial to smaller places, those intimate places to stay where we receive a hotel-style welcome and service, yet somehow still feel as if we have the whole place to ourselves. These tiny romantic hotels, none exceeding 13 rooms, are some of the most romantic places in the region.

Secret Bay, Dominica A Dominica vacation doesn’t get any more romantic than a getaway to these eight eco-luxe villas, which boast outdoor showers; private plunge pools; and dedicated butlers who’ll focus on your needs (while you focus on each other’s). (It’s also our favorite of all Dominica resorts).

Atlantis, Barbados A world away from the island’s posh Platinum (west) coast, this cottage-style charmer (which dates from the 1800s) offers eight rooms and a pair of two-bedroom cottages; an oceanfront pool and a superb restaurant, all surrounded by surfing beaches and sweeping Atlantic views.

Small Caribbean Hotels

Geejam, Jamaica One of the irie isle’s hippest hideaways is this hillside Portland bolthole, where five suites and cabins and a villa are secreted amid tropical foliage just five minutes’ drive from the sands of Frenchman’s Cove.

The Landing, Bahamas Just a quick golf cart ride away from the rosy sweep of Pink Sands beach, this former Customs house turned 13-suite boutique presides over the waterfront, offering chic shelter, understated elegance and the warmest of welcomes to Harbour Island visitors.

Sugar Reef, Bequia Fall in love with each other all over again at this Colonial-style retreat on the timeless and tranquil Grenadine of Bequia, where a former coconut plantation, a quarter-mile long beach and eight antiques-furnished rooms add up to the trip of a lifetime.
