Low-cost carrier Allegiant is reporting big growth, according to the company’s latest passenger traffic data.

Allegiant carried 1.01 million passengers in April, up 20.1 percent from the 841,785 passengers it carried in April 2016.

Revenue passenger miles grew by 16.2 percent year over year to 922,439, while available seat miles increased by 18.2 percent to 1.11 million.

Load factor saw a 1.4 percentage-point reduction in the same period, according to the data.

Allegiant, based in Las Vegas, is focused on taking passengers from smaller cities to popular destinations, having recently launched its first-ever flights to the Caribbean.

Earlier this year, Allegiant launched its first-ever service to Puerto Rico, where the carrier now flies from Orlando, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
