JetBlue Airways Traffic Shows Big Growth

After a mixed first quarter, JetBlue Airways showed significant traffic growth in April, according to the New York City-based carrier’s latest data report.

JetBlue reported just under 4.07 billion revenue passenger miles in April, an 8.2 percent increase compared to the same month in 2016.

That came alongside 6.6 percent growth in available seat miles, with a jump to 4.768 billion ASM, up from 4.47 billion in April 2016.

Load factor rose by 1.2 percentage points year over year.

JetBlue, which has been expanding rapidly in the Caribbean, said it continued to expect second quarter revenue per available seat mile to jump between 3 and 6 percent compared to the second quarter of last year.
