Royal Caribbean’s Tasty New Mojito

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 1, 2017

There’s no better way to celebrate Cuba than with a mojito.

And there was no better way to celebrate Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas’ inaugural call into that country’s capital last week than with a coconut mojito, the specialty of the ship’s Cuban-themed bar.

Made with the customary muddled mint, fresh limes and sugar, the festive libation benefits from Royal’s flavorful twist: a generous measure of Malibu coconut rum and a splash of Monin coconut syrup. But the masterstroke is the cocktail’s service in a glass rimmed with dessicated coconut, which lends a nutty sweetness to every sip.

It’s a taste of the Caribbean you’ll want to repeat. And one you’ll only find onboard.
