MIAMI — The Caribbean’s leading hotel investment summit, CHRIS, has kicked off in downtown Miami.

This week’s Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit is being held at the JW Marriott Marquis hotel in Miami and runs through Friday.

This year’s conference is examining a number of areas, from the current investment climate and hotel performance to the challenges of Caribbean airlift.

CHRIS is bringing together almost 400 delegates from across the Caribbean tourism spectrum, including investors, owners, developers, financial advisors, government tourism officials and architects, among others.

While the Caribbean’s hotel numbers are a bit of a mixed bag right now, most delegates on hand seemed to suggest that the region’s investment climate was still heading in the right direction.
