Gary Player’s New Caribbean Course

There’s a new destination on the radar of golfers: Honduras.

The long-under-the-radar Caribbean coastal destination has recently gotten a major boost thanks to the debut of a major new golf course designed by golfing legend Gary Player.

The Indura Golf Resort is home to Honduras’ first championship 18-hole golf course, and its now regularly hosting PGA Latin America events led by the Honduras Open last weekend.

Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, Indura is turning the Caribbean resort city of Tela into the region’s newest golf destination.

The course runs over 1800 acres, combining sand beaches, blue lagoons and native wetland vegetation.

The course, which is managed by global leader Troon Golf, has helped put attention on other golf courses in Honduras, including the 18-hole Black Pearl Golf Course at Pristine Bay Resort on the Caribbean island of Roatan, the nine-hole Comayagua Golf Club in Honduras’ original capital and the D’Antoni Golf Club in La Ceiba (the latter accessed by Cayman Airways flights from Grand Cayman).
