Taking the Kids to St Barth? This Is Where to Stay.

St Barts Hotels

While St Barth is itself the ultimate destination in the Caribbean for many travelers, it’s also a terrific family destination, whether you’re staying in a villa or a resort.

But one island property has upped the ante: LVMH’s Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France, which has a significant portfolio of activities that are great for kids.

Indeed, the 40-suite resort on Flamands Beach has the kind of kid-friendly options that most other Caribbean resorts can only dream of.

Here are some of them:

Petits Artistes

Kids can take to the easel with artist Kate Kova and put the pristine scenery of Flamands beach onto canvas. With the sparkling blue seaas the subject, kids will learn drawing and painting techniques from the best on the island.

The Little Mermaid

To enchant the littlest guests, Amaryllis the mermaid is available to swim with kids in the pool or ocean, or for those old enough for a snorkeling adventure, she can pop up as a surprise and join the family as they seek angel fish, sea turtles, and other Caribbean marine life.

‘A la Française’ Cooking Class

From sweet treats to savory snacks, kids can let the magic flow in the kitchen. After choosing a recipe of their liking, the maison’s Chef Stéphanie will turn the littlest guests in masterchefs in just a few short hours, whipping up sweets like French madeleines and macarons. For older children with an interest in learning the language, these lessons can be given in French.

Yellow Submarine

Guests can take to the Caribbean Sea under the waves with a ride on the island’s Yellow Submarine. With a trip through the Marine Park and around the Gros Ilets, families will spot tropical fish, sea turtles, and a ship wreck of the ‘Marignan,’ which sunk fifteen years ago.

A Beachside Read

Cheval Blanc’s new children’s book titled ‘A La Poursuite de Cheval Blanc,’ follows two fluffy friends as they travel through Cheval Blanc’s three maisons, from St. Barth to the French Alps to the Maldives, ‘In Pursuit of the White Horse.’ Not only is it a perfect beachside read for the little ones, but it comes with a white origami horse.
