Southwest Continues Strong Traffic Growth

Southwest Airlines, which is expanding rapidly in the Caribbean, continues to show strong traffic growth.

The carrie flew 9.4 billion revenue passenger miles overall last month, a 4.6 percent increase from the 8.9 billion revenue passenger miles it flew in January 2016.

Available seat miles increased 6.2 percent to 12.3 billion in January 2017, compared to 11.5 billion in January 2016.

Load factor stood at 76.3 percent last month compared with 77.5 percent in January 2016.
