Southwest Airlines Launching New Flights to Grand Cayman

Southwest Airlines is continuing its rapid Caribbean expansion push with another new route.

The carrier will be launching daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Cayman beginning June 4, subject to government appprovals.

The route will operate out of the new five-gate international Concourse A at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 1, scheduled to open at the beginning of the summer travel season.

Southwest will be using that facility to serve Belize City, Cancun and Montego Bay for flights beginning June 4.

Southwest already operates daily flights between Fort Lauderdale and Nassau, Bahamas.

The Cayman flights will start as low as $89 one-way, according to the company.
