Cancun Airport Is Expanding

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 24, 2017

The Caribbean’s busiest airport is expanding.

Cancun International Airport is currently working on the addition of a new terminal and an integrated 126-room hotel property inside the airport.

The two projects are slated for completion in 2017 and 2018, respectively. The fourth terminal will make Cancun the only Mexican airport with four terminals.

Cancun’s airport has already reported a rise in flights from the U.S. this year, thanks in large part to the lift in flight restrictions established by an agreement between the U.S. and Mexican governments in August of last year.

It’s a reason why Cancun hotels are some of the most sought after (and popular) in the region.
