Honduras’ Barefoot Cay Resort Sold

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 11, 2017

The Barefoot Cay Resort in the Bay Islands of Honduras has changed ownership.

Barefoot Luxury, Inc. has acquired the property, which includes 15 acres on the Caribbean sea and a private three-acre island called Barefoot Cay.

Also included in the transaction is Barefoot Cay’s PADI 5-Star Dive Center and Instructor Development Center, which the company plans to immediately expand through soon-to-be-announced partnerships in Cayman and Belize.

“This acquisition lays the cornerstone for Barefoot Luxury to become a leading global brand in the luxury experiential travel marketplace,” stated J.P. Hannan, Executive Chairman of Barefoot Luxury. “We are currently evaluating similar boutique resort acquisition opportunities throughout the Caribbean, each with their own specialization and long standing clientele, to collectively build an unrivaled boutique resort hotel platform.”
