Manny Pacquiao Visits Cayman Islands

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao visited the Cayman Islands this week to launch a major new sports project in Grand Cayman.

The event is part of the first phase of a large-scale redevelopment of the Haig Bodden Playing Field, which is slated to open in early 2018 with a state-of-the-art boxing gym, basketball and netball courts and other facilities.

Pacquiao, who is a senator in the Philippines, also hosted a boxing event on Saturday before flying to Cayman Brac on Sunday.

The agenda for his visit was organized by Cayman Mardi Gras and sponsors including global commodities firms SDKA and Cayman-based SDKA Securities.
