BVI Airways Acquires Second Aircraft

BVI Airways, which plans to launch the first-ever nonstop commercial flights between Miami and Tortola, has acquired its second aircraft.

The company has taken delivery of a second AVRO Regional Jet 100, which will have a seating capacity of 86, including 12 in “premier class.”

The four-engine plane has a cruising altitude of 31,000 feet and a top speed of about 500 mph.

The planned nonstop flight between Miami and Tortola should take around 2.5 hours.

“Our second plane is yet another major step in readying BVIA to dramatically improve the convenience and comfort of getting to the BVI,” said Jerry Willoughby, the CEO and President of the airline.
