Ocho Rios Among Destinations Seeing Big Jumps in Travel Demand

Tourism demand to the Jamaican destination of Ocho Rios is rising fast, according to the latest numbers from global travel giant Expedia.

Tourism demand for Ocho Rios increased more than 50 percent in the third quarter, compared to the same period in 2015.

That was the highest growth of any market in the Caribbean, according to the report, followed by Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which showed 25 percent growth in the same period.

Nassau, Bahamas also showed a 20 percent increase.

“The Caribbean continues to perform well internationally,” said Demetrius Canton, Director of Market Management for the Caribbean.
