Old San Juan.

Thousands of Caribbean Journal readers have spoken, and now there’s a winner.

San Juan, Puerto Rico has taken home the crown as the Caribbean Journal Readers’ Choice Award winner for Caribbean City of the Year in 2016.

San Juan beat out Oranjestad, Aruba and Fort de France, Martinique, which came in second and third place, respectively, to win the award.

“San Juan is an energetic, fascinating city that is among the hemisphere’s great urban destinations,” said Alexander Britell, Editor and Publisher of Caribbean Journal. “Caribbean Journal readers are the world’s largest community of travelers to the Caribbean, and they resoundingly chose to honor this great city in 2016.”
